Patience is a virtue

Hey guys!  I'm happy to report that after nearly giving up before my first try (Cypress Gardens) I will be able to sign up and compete.  My issue was a bike, and as you all know they are pretty expensive.  My training is going great except for the fact that when my wife saw how much "entry" level bikes were she flipped.  Needless to say I hit craigslist.com like a fiend and found a good starter bike for 300 bucks.  I went to pick it up and after conversating with the guy he decided to sell it too me for 260 just because I was in the Army.  I don't ever use my status to get stuff, but he noticed some of my tattoos and the DOD sticker on my car and it came up....Anyway Im very greatful for supportive Americans like this gentlemen, because now I can continue to train and compete.  So now I have a Cannondale R300....a little old school but a great starter for me to train on and "trick" out....who knows if I get good at this I can save my $$ and buy something better this time next year!  Hope to see some of you at Cypress Gardens in Oct, or a flatwoods park one of these saturdays!!!
