Well, I didnt hit my goal this year. I have an injury

Anyone else here deal with dorsal extensor tendonitis before? It basically the tendon on the top of my foot, which kills after about 3 miles. Anyway, Im really wondering how long it takes to actually heal, and what if anything can be done to speed it along?

I love riding the computrainer and all... but I miss my long runs

Can we trade?  I haven't biked for about a month and a half, limited biking since may, been running my heart out though, and missed all my goals for the entire season- peak hours, races, and annual hours (there's no way I'll make my annual hours now that I've been set back at least 100 hours of biking).

I've been battling a knee injurie since april, and have got all kinds of smaller referal injuries while trying to train through it.  Stupid rookie mistake, which has cost me a season.

Add in a triple sigh for me.  As of yesterday I just started to get back on the bike again, only 20 minutes, twice a week.  And all I can do is avg. about 17 mph, which is making me really depressed.

Anyways, I just wanted to post this to tell you that I'm with you, and hope that you get better ASAP.  I hope that you can stay motivated for next year.  Just think, it's offseason now anyways (or just about), so you're supposed to be taking it easy anyways.

Good luck, and I sincerely wish you the best, including a swift recovery, and a quick recovery to pre-injury levels.

Remember: if nothing else, I'm sitting on the sidelines with you.

I know how you feel.  I've been battling hip issues for months and finally decided no biking or running for a few weeks.  I've been swimming more but now I am starting to have some mid back pain that I think may be caused by swimming!  I really miss running the most but haven't been able to really do much running since early in the year.  Hopefully things will work out for you and you will be back at it before you know it.

I'm with you. I separated my shoulder in August, and now all I can do is run. I had to pull out of two tri's this month, as I cannot swim, and I have been advised not to bike as well.

The Army 10-miler in DC next month is my only motivation.

Looking forward to the 2009 season.
