Subject: RE: 305 vs 405 vs t4 vs t6 I have the Garmin 405, and although I love it, I have lost some patience with trying to learn how to use all of the features. I ran my last 1/2 marathon using the "race against myself" feature from my previous 1/2 marathon, which was a PR for me in order to get a new PR. That seems to be a very useful feature for me as I can see what I am capable of right on the screen and it therefore helps me push myself. I also love the wireless download...when I run at work I stand outside my office window to stretch and it will download data from right there (my monitor faces the window, so I can see all the data). It finds satellites quickly and easily...I don't have to go outside usually and I never have to stand still. One thing about it that does annoy me is the bezel. When I run with long sleeves on, they touch the bezel and it goes into other modes. I can lock the bezel, but then it beeps to tell me "locked bezel". I'm not sure how to turn the beeping/message off. Once it went into a mode where it was telling me that there were curves to right/curves to left ahead as a result of my sleeves...that was fun, but I haven't figured out how to get back there yet Honestly, I knew there were more features on it than I'd probably ever use, but I really liked the fact that it looked like a regular watch and that heavily influenced my decision. I still like that feature, and just need to spend more time with the user's manual. |
