I currently run in Nike Shox and am seeking advice on my next pair, what are some of the better models from your experience? I currently run about 20 miles a week and plan on doing a half and full marathon in 09

do you

underpronate?
overpronate?

land heel?
land forefoot?

run streets? trails? treadie?

Your running form is more important for shoes than your distance...

Find a running store that will analyze your gait and go from there.

First - go to a running store and get fit.... Try some brands you may not typically think of (Nike does not own the running shoe business). I started with Brooks and now am in a pair of Saucony and love them.

shox are terrible for your feet when running. there is no midfoot support whatsoever. we do not carry them at our running store, and you'll never find them at any running store for that matter. go have someone analyze your gait, and dont worry about brands, colors, or price. worry about which ones your feet enjoy being in the most. a good running store will let you try the shoes out either on a treadmill or outside on the sidewalk, parking lot, whatever. it shouldnt cost anything to have your gait looked at, its a free service offered by running stores. good luck, and you're feet have no idea what they're missing. but they will soon be very happy with you

Just a note, these posts are talking about a running store, NOT a Sports Authority type store, not a shoe store. If you don't have any idea about one, look for running clubs in your area, they will know of one or two you can go to.

If the store you go to only looks at your feet while you're standing still and starts pulling out shoes, leave and go to another store. I'm flatfooted and neutral pronation, so I'm not supposed to exist and they would not have figured out I do according to the static looking at of my feet.
