I'm always keeping my eye on bikes on Craigslist.  I constantly see these terms (vintage & rare) in the description or title.  It usually means old, rusted, boat anchor worthy, piece of metal.

Does anyone search for these terms when looking for a bike?

Yep... sometimes on Ebay you can come across a cool old frame for a restoration project or a goofed up build or something.  Although, I've found I actually come across more if you just drive by some garage sales.

I bought a very nice "Vintage" Miyata road bike on Craigslist. Sure, some of the old stuff is junk, but there is some truly desirable and even collectable stuff out there. My Miyata is early '80's vintage and is in excellent condition and it rides great--and it was a bargain.

Just like most anything vitage or rare, there are collectors who monitor Craigslist looking for those "diamonds".

I bought a Cervelo One off of Craigslist and rode it at IMFL.  When I was checking in the inspector commented about my "Classic" Cervelo that I had.  Either way, it still got me through the 112 miles.
