Most running shoes I see are $120. Where are cheaper places to get?

One example......ASICS Gel Cumulus 10's ( the 11's are new ) .... $ 59 @ several web sites.

Sites I've used and been very satisfied with :

Onlineshoes.com will match exact size/color and they have a very liberal return policy (as in run in them for up to 3 mos, if it's not right shoe return it, no ?'s). Ordered many times there and have always been 100 % happy.

Runnningwarehouse.com - ordered there too... free 2 day shipping.

Footlocker.com - Actually found some ASICS Gel Nimbus for a very low price but they were not the shoe for me; returned them to a store after running in them for awhile.=, no ?'s asked.

Google the shoe you want ... and good luck !

Oh, Roadrunnersports.com seems to be pretty good if you're going to buy several pairs over a year or so..... decent discounts.

If a running shop is accessible to you, I'd say to head in and see what they suggest for you.  I walked in (Luke's Locker in Houston) figuring that they'd suggest their most expensive shoes.

After having me wet my feet and stand on paper (to see how my feet impacted) and watching me run for a bit, my salesman disappeared into the backroom and came out with three pair of shoes.  The ones he thought would be best for me were Sauconys for only $69.  He also brought out some pricy Nikes, but he thought my stride looked better in the Sauconys.

Just my suggestion.

Go to a running store to get shoes if you haven't before. Not a sports authority, but the local running specialty shop. Let them figure out what kind of shoe you need. Buy it from them the first time. Then go ahead and go the cheap route (with that same model) for your 2nd, 3rd, 4th pair etc.... Remember to replace them every so often (400 miles was the last figure I heard).
Getting shoes that actually matched my stride was the best decision I ever made, saved my knees, allowed me to enjoy running again, allowed me to get fast, etc....
The extra 40 bucks is worth not getting overuse injuries, or permanently trashing your knees, ankles, and lower back.
