I am new to triathlons and have been training for about 3 months. I have been riding a walmart road bike and I am riding about 40 miles a week. I have found a 2006 Specialized Allez Elite triple for $250. Most components are shimano 105. It also comes with a pump and spare tubes. Is it worth $250 because I don't have the money to buy a new bike. Here is a complete list of components if you have time to look. Thanks for any input.

The first question should be if it fits.  Specialized makes nice bikes, and 105 components are good entry level racing. We just paid about $1k for mrs gearboy's new Specialized Dolce, which has lower level components (but she is very tall, and needed to have the frame ordered new, so the odds of finding an older bike were slim). If you figure losing about 50% of value in the first year, and another 10-20% the next, $250 for a 2006 is a pretty good deal, I think.

If it's the same bike you to which you linked, yes (if it fits).  Ensure the components are 105 and it's a good deal.

It should fit. It is a 56 and the LBS said I would be fine with a 54 or 56. They said I was in between.
