Subject: I Broke into Top 3 in my Age Group!
I did the Heritage Triathlon (1/2 mile swim, 15.5 mile bike, 3.1 mile run) in Jefferson, TX, this past Sunday and was very happy to see that I cracked into the Top 3 in my Age Group (M 30-34) with a time of 1:35:26.  (Here's a LINKY to my race report.)

I finished about 3 minutes behind the 2nd place finisher in my AG, which SUCKS because my run was about 1:00/mile slower than my regular pace.  (Darn GU that I took too close to the run.  Stupid cramps!)  Unfortunately, because of the small number of people in my age group, hardware was only handed out to 1st and 2nd place.

Knowing that I was able to get into the Top 3, though, is just incentive for my next race!!

great job on your finish!  That sucks that they only awarded medals to the top 2 finishers.  What if there was only one person in an age group? Would they not give them a medal for being first?
