I have a loud creaking on the seatpost. I think the part of the seatpost that isn't visible is rubbing back and forth during the pedal stroke. How or what does one use to lubricate the part of the seatpost below its insertion point?

First off, make sure it IS the seatpost.  These hollow tubes contraptions we ride can transmit sounds from end to end with no real clue where they originate.  That being said...Check saddle rails, remove seatpost-clean it and seat tube, grease very lightly (even if it's CF-no evidense it causes any harm), reinsert, tighten down TO SPEC only.  Easy to ruin a seatpost or strip out a binder bolt if you start reefin on it.  Then while you've got a wrench in your hand; check chaniring bolts, bars/stem, crank, pedals, shifters etc.  Good Luck.  I HATE creaks.

Lemme know if you figure it out....the seat post on my Cervelo has been creaking for weeks. The LBS cleans it , lubes it , tightens it ....then it just starts creaking all over again. No clue.

Any suggestions on exactly what to use to lube the seatpost with?

It probably just needs to be lubed. I have the LBS do it...not sure what they use. Might just want to have them check it out anyway, just to be sure.
