I recently put a 700 X 25 rear tire on my Felt S22 and I can't even spin the wheel because it is against the seat tube. I have noticed that even with the 700 X 23 the tire is very close. Is this common with the S22 (2004 or 2005), or could something be bent that bad?

Unfortunately there are no adjustments in the dropouts.

Thanks,
Eric

The S22 does have horizontal dropouts with adjustment screws (look at the back by the cassette). You need to adjust both sides to get clearance from the tire. A couple of minutes of work at most!

Maybe they made them adjustable after 2004, because mine are not.

So if there is no adjustment, why do you feel the need to run a 25? Why not go back down to the 23?

The reason I wanted to try the 25 can be found here - http://beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid...

I will be going back to the 23's. I contacted Felt to see if there was a problem with my bike or if this is just a limitation of the design and all they said was "we recommend using a 700 X 23 tire". It's not a big deal, just frustrating.
