Subject: I'm tired of this story:http://www1.pressdemocrat.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050913/NEWS/509130348/1033/NEWS01 SANTA ROSA Bicyclist killed by delivery truckA Santa Rosa woman was hit by a delivery truck and killed after riding her bike onto a Stony Point Road crosswalk Monday morning, Santa Rosa police said.
Sarah Hines, 39, apparently struck the side of the truck near the passenger-side door and was pulled underneath, Sgt. Doug Schlief said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said it appears that the driver of a Clover Stornetta truck was making a legal right turn from West Third Street onto Stony Point. But officers still are talking to witnesses to determine whether Hines rode into his path or was in the crosswalk before he began his turn, Schlief said.
The truck driver, Kris Bredahl, 27, of Petaluma, wasn't injured but was quite shaken, police said.
Ronnie Rao, who owns a nearby convenience store, said Hines was a regular customer and had just come in. Minutes later he left the store and saw that she had been hit.
"I was the last person she talked to," a distraught Rao said. "If I would have talked to her two more minutes, maybe she wouldn't be dead."
Stony Point Road between West Third Street and Occidental Road was closed for almost seven hours from about 11:20 a.m.
