Ekiden Relay - Run

Comments: Love smoking people on the uphills. Got in a groove because I wore my Garmin so I wouldn't run sub 7 minute miles. What would you do differently?: Carry my fuel belt and inhaler. The cooler thick air made my asthma noticable. I could have run faster, but I was too scared from my blow up at the 10k last weekend to push it below an 8min mile. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Rode the trainer a little more. Not too much since I had running shorts on and not spandex so it was uncomfortable. Talked and hung out with Janelle and Brett. Listened to Janelle say at least 50 times how much she wants a dog (there were a lot of dogs there since the race was in a park). :) Get a dog Janelle. What limited your ability to perform faster: Needed my inhaler. Event comments: Relays are fun, it was fun to have Janelle (runnergirl28) as our offical jockstrap at this event. She carried my bike for me and help with various other things (taking pictures, provided entertainment, etc). Pictures to be posted as soon as she gets them up. Last updated: 2005-09-26 12:00 AM

Woke up, had a Diet Coke and a peanut butter sandwich. Brett met Janelle and I at my place, loaded up bikes and trainers into cars.
This was a 6 man relay with each running 5k. We had a 5 person team, Brett ran twice.
Rode the trainer before my turn to run. Warmed up legs, trying to log a little more time on the bike since race is in 1 month and our ride was going to be shorter than I would have liked.
I was the third leg, I was supposed to be second but another girl had to leave after her run so she wanted to go early in the lineup.
