Subject: Christmas gift...what to do? I need some opinions here on a gift I received for Christmas..... To set the stage here, my father and stepmother live in Louisville, Ky and fly down to Atlanta on the second weekend of December every year to celebrate Christmas with his family that lives here (there are 11 of us in all). Since they fly we usually get money or gift cards and have for years. This year my Dad made the effort to call my wife and ask her if there was anything specific that I wanted for Christmas this year. I had put on my list that I wanted the TdF/Giro DVD package from worldcycling and so that is what my wife told him to get me. The DVD's didn't get here in time for my wife to wrap them for our get together Saturday so they just gave me a card and told me what was on the way. I was really touched that my Dad had gone to that much trouble to find out what I actually wanted instead of just taking the easy way out and writing a check. Today a box arrived with the DVD's and instead of the Tour/Giro 4 hour DVD's it was the 12 hour TdF DVD set. My quandry is: do I send the DVD's back to Amazon and then buy the 4 hour sets from worldcycling or just keep them and buy the Giro set seperately some other time? This years Tour wasn't exactly the most exciting, where as the Giro was very exciting. I am grateful that my Dad put so much thought into my gift and I am sure that he had no idea what my wife was talking about and just saw the TdF DVD's and thought that was it. Comments? |
