This year it's in March, Mid-Atlantic Multisport coaches Bill Hauser and Todd Wiley (level 2 cerified, team USA, on Brd of Directors), Ken Glah (Ironman)

Wondering if anyone has participated in the past. I'm a beginner, looking for solid advice and some cramming (I will not sit down and ready tri training bibles, books on chi running, etc). Any opinions out there ??

Read this site, read this site, read this site, and then read this site.  Articles, threads, blogs, et al.  I find that a lot of the information that you say you don't want to sit down and pore over gets boiled down through practical application and posted here by people who actually use it.  Also posts from the guys like Ken and Mike are uber-informational.

i think this is the first year for this event.  I do know these guys are good what they do, raced with all 3 of them (needless to say they always won the race)

You don't need this camp to meet your goals, this website could answer any questions you would have.  Now if you are a type of person that needs to be show what to do and how to do it then this may be a good start for you.  I can tell you one thing, i bet this boot camp will be very hard.

I'm not sure what the cost of the boot camp. I bet you'd learn a lot though.

You may consider joining a tri club...cost is reasonable and you will gain lots of knowledge and support. My tri club puts on a free beginner workshop. This is another way to get in person type of training and support. Many tri clubs have group workouts and some have special programs to welcome and support first timers. Some YMCA's have tri teams that do training together and support each other with speakers and the like.

Here in NE there is a multisport expo with free workshops about all aspects of tris plus a TI swim clinic for a small cost. You could go for two days and learn a lot, and many of the workshop participants set up tables where you can talk with them and ask lots of questions.

Look around or even ask here on BT if anyone knows or recommends something in your area.

It is kinda pricey...for that kind of money you could hire a coach for much of the year.
