Run
Comments: I am happy with my new HR zones and the way I managed the race. I planned to stay in my endurance zone (159 - 179) until mile 10. Then, open it up a bit into the LT zone (184 - 194) for the last 5K (3.1 miles). I fought the urge to go faster early on and had enough left in the tank for a final kick. What would you do differently?: I would get a more sleep the night before and eat more as well. Post race
Warm down: Walked and stretched while I waited to see Billy come in. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nada. Event comments: This race gets bigger every year. It is awesome to have it in our backyard. It is a well organized weekend of events. Congratulations to my bud, Billy. Major breakthrough today in running 13.1. Now you have a taste of what lies ahead in order to train for and complete the HIM this November. Last updated: 2005-12-08 12:00 AM

Got up at 3:30AM, got my stuff together and headed out to Billy's house. I picked him up around 4:45 AM and went to buy coffee for the ride to the race. The coffee was definitely one of the all time worst cups I have ever had. Peet's Coffee, there is no substitute. Got the race site at 5:15 AM.
Billy, Mike Willson and Ed (aka Other Dude) walked to the start.
