Pre-race routine:

woke up at 6 AM this morning and started hydrating. I ate a bowl of cereal a banana, a handful of raisins and a few nuts. Just hang out limbered up a bit and let my stomach settle.
Event warmup:

Not as god as it could have been. I stretched and walked around allot.

Comments:

I was ready for this run, but it was much more hilly than where I usually run. still overall I had a decent middle of the pack run and I passed a lot of people on the big uphill grind. Overall I would say it was a sucsessfull race. :)
What would you do differently?:

I went too hard up the big hill and was hurting the second half of the race. I underestimated how difficult the mile of downhill would be.
Post race
Warm down:

Grabbed a can of juice a bottle of watter and half a bagle. scarfed it down and then streached and walked around a bit. waited about 30 minutes to sit.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Hills! I really need to work running BIG hills into my workouts. I hit a lot of rollers but a couple of times a month I need to hit some 1-2 mile long monsters. That and more base work and I will be cool. The time and distance didnt hurt me but climbing did.

Event comments:

This was a small event but well organised and put on. I will run this race next year.

Course: This was a REALLY hilly course. It was fun but quite challenging. Started out with a nice fast flat mile then one mile to the top of a mountain. Followed by a steep downhill mile and another flat fast mile. The big hill really kicked my butt!

We have a common nemesis - HILLS!

I am glad you had a good time at the run.  I hope Krisy did, too!

Yay Brad- sounds like a fun race (minus the hills- which I, too, HATE!) Looks like your nutrition went well, too. Glad you liked it enough to do it again next year.
