Subject: Giro's new Air Attack "aero" helmet http://velonews.competitor.com/2012/06/bikes-and-tech/giro-launches-air-attack-aero-road-helmet_224988?utm_medium=whats-hot What do you think. A blend of a road helmet and an aero helmet. With a cool removeable visor. Interesting that they think it will be popular with triathletes, but I guess that stems from the fact that some aero helmest are really reducing the amount of vents like the Selector. Also interesting that Lance was considering wearing one at IM France. Personally, I think I may get one. I often ride with my head down, and have a hard time finding a helmet with a tail that fits my back well anyway. I was eyeing out the release of the KASK helmet that Wiggins uses, but noticed it has almost no vents. I don't think vents are a big deal unless you use a visor. I'd also consider using somethingn like this for road racing. Every little bit helps right? Your thoughts? Maybe I should just get a cheap skate board helmet... On another note...this may open up the market for people who want an aero helmet, but don't want to look like they are wearing an aero helmet. I know it's a silly reason not to get an aero helmet, but from the forums here, there are a lot of people that feel that way. |
