Soooo on a spur of the moment as i was b.s. ing at my lbs a guy walks in wants to sell a softride. I bought it. Lets say i got it fairly cheap. Its a Softride Rocket TT7. My question is, is there a website with info on these bikes? I googled but didnt find anything.

I'll let my hubby know you want info. He is briderdt - bike nerd and owner of 2 or 3 soft rides...I can't remember whether it's 2 or 3 soft rides.

They got their start as a "rear suspension" option for mountain bikes.
They were called Allsop. It was a beam you mounted to the top tube of a rigid frame and then attach your saddle to the beam.
Combo it with a Girvin Flex Stem and you just converted your rigid mtb to full suspension with a massive 1/2-1" of travel!

I own both a road bike and a tri bike. I am wondering which bike I should be riding during off season training, or does it matter?

I first decided I was going to "do" a triathlon in 1994. It wasn't until 13 years later, in 2007 that I actually did. Why did it take me 13 years to get to the starting line? The swim!
