With a kayak escort, I wouldn't worry too much about traffic, though if weeds are a concern then the issue is where you come in/out of the water. Seward Park, by the steps, would be a good choice. Never seen weeds there, and I've done a few races out of that. But if you go over just a little ways to the sandy area, then there are weeds not far out. Once you're at anything deeper than 10 feet or so, though, even if there are weeds they're well out of reach. But... Gotta ask: why skeeves you out about the weeds? Swimming through them really isn't a huge deal, just be smooth and lift your arm out of the water from the elbow. I've been through some pretty thick stuff... They're not predatory. |
