Does the above exist?

I have the same "pod" (I have no idea what it's real name is) that snaps onto the Polar strap I upgraded to a long time ago. The "pod" is 6 yrs old, but wasn't used for all that time. I did have a new battery installed, earlier this year.

Problem I have is..........it'll work fine until I'm drenched. Then, it starts reading lower and lower HR. When I finish a long run, it may say my HR is 34 BPM. Oddly enough, it works when I come out of the water, just fine. When I'm drenched in sweat - different story.

I take a damp cloth and wipe down the inside of the strap before I use it, each time. I wash it 2-3X/mo. Has anyone come out with a better system than the one I have? What's the life expectancy on these things? Is this about as good as it gets?

Oddly enough, the time I really wanted the info. from it this year.....it worked great (International dist. tri). I just don't know when it's going to work and when it's going to freak out. FWIW, I can't remember it ever NOT working on the bike (paired with a 510). While running, it's paired with my 920XT.

Same problem if we are talking about the Garmin Soft Strap?

After two of them and one eBay cheapy model, I started Googleing the issue. It is a common issue and seems to be caused by moisture.

I switched to a Scosche Rhythm + and have had not more issues. Bluetooth and Ant+.

My old Garmin hard strap was bullet proof but the soft ones up until last winter when I changed was always an issue.

Yeah....my Garmin strap was the reason I switched to the Polar strap. It's "better", but not great.

I'm considering using my wife's Tom-Tom (optical) on one wrist and the 920 on the other in my HIM (run leg). If it was a full, I'd surely do it.

I have the Rhythm+ myself. I tested it by taking my kids to a trampoline park. 90min later, it never slipped, never dropped connection and never had a weird reading. I was jumping, falling, playing dodgeball and flipping into a foam pit. I also sweat heavily when I run or ride. I've had no issues there either and I like the forearm band.

I've been using the wahoo TickrX for a while now and have had 0 issues. Works great!

I have a review of it up on the blog. Check it out and I'd interested can try and get you a deal. Shoot me a note!
