Subject: swim differences
i know the difference in ocean swimming compared to pool swimming but whats the difference between lake swimming and ocean swimming?

Generally, the salt water gives you more buoyancy, which makes you a little faster in the ocean, although this is usually offset by waves/current/chop. Don't forget to take into account having to get past that surfline (if applicable). This is assuming the water and air temps are similar.

primarilly:  surf, currents, tides and rip currents.  Just be aware of all of the above and that will give you a  leg up on a lot of your competition. 

Example:  If there is a strong current, start way outside the bouy and let it carry you to the first turn.  musch quicker than swimming against it to stay outside the 1st turn bouy.
