Anyone from here in the Quads know where I can legally swim in a lake setting to get some OWS practice?

You can swim in the beach part of West Lake (although I don't know for how much longer), and you might be able to use Lake Kildeer up in DeWitt, I was in a race there not too long ago, not a huge lake, but it worked for the race. If you do find something, please let us know.

Thanks...yeah I've been out to West Lake but tomorrow is the last day it is open for the season.  I may try the lake up near DeWitt.  I really want to get some more training but want to be safe and legal.  It's frustrating to not have a place to OSW.

Just so you know if you check out Kildeer in Dewitt, it looks tiny...and it is.  A lap around the outside of the lake is pretty much 500 yards, maybe 600 if you actually swam circles to the dock.  I don't know if swimming is allowed there all the time, but it can't hurt to find out.

I went up there today....they have signs posted saying "no swimming."  Geez, I geuss I'll just keep swimming laps in the pool and get my OWS experience with each event I do.  I have a bit of a phobia in an OW environment and want to gain some routine experience to try to overcome it.

Hmmm...well, I apologize for suggesting that, then.
