Subject: High Heart Rate While RunningHi everyone, I had my last race of the season 14th September and for the last few weeks I have cut down my tri training. I planned this mini break to give myself time to get back into my weight training which has suffered dramatically since starting this tri stuff 11 months ago. (I know weight training won't make me quicker but I trained for 4 years previous to this year and am trying to get a bit of definition back. I am hoping it will make me look better in the lycra. LOL. ) (Red sarcasm font not working! )
Anyway, I have noticed that during my runs over the last few weeks my heart rate is very high and I have to run really slow to keep it in zone 2. Even when it is high though I don't feel fatigued. I figure this may be down to the weight training. It can't be over training as I have been taking it quite easy lately.
I plan on begining my winter training next week with a focus on increasing my running volume to race faster next year.
Any thoughts on the high heart rate? Should I just ignore it? |
