Subject: Triathlon trainingSo when you go swimming to train for a 500 meter swim, you usually do interval training for like 2000 to 4000 yards per practice. When you do bike training for a 12.4 mile bike, is it possible or a good idea to do interval training in a similar manner for almost 50 miles or so? And then the same for the run, you train for a 5k, so should you do intervals for 9 miles or so? I am just wondering, because it seems odd I spend an hour in the pool or so, and then 30-40 minutes on the bike and 20 running, so I get more swim practice, even though the bike and run legs are longer. I suppose I just need to bike a lot more at a time, or try those intervals for 50 miles.
