Subject: How will you perform when you hit your target weight I posted this in the Clydesdale/Athena forum but I think I should have posted it here. Let me start by saying that I am a math loving uber-geek. I like to know the unknown and so on. I recently competed in my first triathlon which was the New Orleans HIM. Now, I weighed about 265 when I ran the tri. It took me 8 hours to do it. The winner ran it in about 4 hours or something ridiculous like that. All of this got me to thinking, how fast would the winner have run it if he were my weight. Conversely I wanted to know how fast I would be if I were running the race at his weight. This spreadsheet assumes a couple of things and it is very simple. It is based off of power and it assumes that your power will be consistant across you weight. While it might not be true for the pro it will probably be true for me. I just figured that I was very fit and really good at running a tri at 265 and wanted to compare my "performance" with the skinny folks. Here is my spreadsheet you can use it if you like. It was an eyeopener for me and has caused me to get serious about my weightloss. If you can think of any improvements or if you don't understand it and need clarification please let me know.
