Subject: RE: Hello-need help! i used to have your mentality about pushing myself further if i was feeling great. those endorphins are two-timing though! i was always laid up with some stupid injury. i heard about the 10%rule in a lot of places and made these programs out of it. no problems. incidentally, i started running after achilles tendinitis at 20min to start...been following the run part exactly running 2-3 times/week, 10% increase/week, EZ week every 4rth week and following the EZ week only starting up at my most recent highest volume...in essence only actually going up in volume for 2 out of 4 weeks. currently doing a nice 1 hour 6min run for the long runs. no achilles problems. i have never done this before when i trained by my endorphins. pushing yourself in endurance sports and making jumps in volume, if feel, is going to do u in. If u have a good base and been doing this for awhile and have a coach then maybe u can get away with this...or if you have good genes. but for most of us, it will catch up to ya...especially with any preexisting injuries. i did it again...rambling. so sorry.
