Not sure about the spelling on that.

So whats the best remedy? Stop Running? Thats basically what the Dr. told me this morning.
Or should I just eat Ibuprofen like candy and suck it up?

Go see an orthopedist if the person you saw was a primary care doc.  If you saw an orthopod get another opinion.    There are some braces you can try, PT to be done and topical NSAIDs you can try.  If you need an orthopod PM me you location and I maybe able to suggest someone for you.

I've had patellar tendonitis from running.

Stretch and strengthen your quads - takes pressure of the tendon and joint. Avoid jumping activities while training. Ice 20 min. after running. Some studies show ibuprofen interfers with the inflammitory progression, i.e. interfers with healing.

Also, think about a "cho-pat" strap while symptomatic.

It takes a while to resolve - months. Mine still flares up at times, but never side tracks me.

Good luck.

I've had it, too.

Stretching and strengthening your quads is the answer. See this link: http://www.med.umich.edu/1libr/sma/sma_jumpersk_rex.htm

I continued running through it using a strap that went on the lower part of my knee (where the pain was; rather than the typical IT band strap that is on the upper part of your knee...that didn't work for me). When the pain subsided, I ran without the strap, but carried it with me just in case.

I don't think you need to stop running. Maybe run less. And avoid eating IB like candy, please. That's just not good for you. And actually, the pain will help you decide how much or how little you can actually train.

Have patience. It should get better.

A lot of times the doctors think a knee issue is patella tendinitis but then it ends up being somthing else (chodromalacia/runners knee, IT band issues, cartilage, etc.)

I have had problems all season this year, finally got an MRI and I have what they call "bone marrow edema" on the rear, top of my tibia. Still trying to figure this one out.
