Baby jogger on Chattahoochee  trails: Bob Ironman V. BOB Sport Utility

--

Does anyone have experience with using the Bob Ironman jogger on the crushed cinder paths of Chattahoochee Rec areas?
Cochran Shoals (at the end of Columns Drive) for example?

Does anyone have experience taking the Bob Ironman off the main hard packed paths into the woods and up hills?

How about taking the Sport Utility on pavement? How does that work?

I am trying to decide whether to return this unopened Bob Ironman stroller and get the Sport Utility model.

Thanks!

We have the sports utility model and it works like a dream.  I've never taken it to the Chatahoochee trails, but I have used it on a few other ones.  As long as the trails isn't really bumby it works fine.

Once the difference between the ironman and the sport utility?  I see the "mag" wheels on the sport utility, but is there anything else?

Two differences between the ironman and the others.  (1) ironman is a fraction lighter and possibly less bulky (barely noticeable) and (2) the front wheel on the ironman is fixed.  For us, that was the deciding feature.  The swiveling front wheel makes the other Bobs so much more manueverable and allows it to multi task as both a jogger (it does this very well) and also be more of a traditional stroller on those long family outings. The Ironman really is just a jogger.  I'm sure you could use it as a traditional stroller but the fixed front wheel makes it more of a hassle.

I have the Bob Ironman. It's a great jogger, light and smooth but the fixed wheel makes maneuvering it as a "regular stroller" a pain so I wouldn't recommend it in that way. As a dedicated jogger, it was quite nice but I'd think you could get the same benefit from a swivel wheel that fixes. Unfortunately my daughter refuses to sit still in a stroller ever since she learned how to walk so the lovely Kona Blue Ironman stroller is hanging in the garage, unused for over a year. I could be tempted to sell it if anyone wants to make an offer

Both the Ironman and the Sports Utility have a fixed front wheel.  I went to their website, and it appears the two strollers are very similar.  The Sports Utility has the mag wheels, but weighs 2 pounds more.

You're right, the Bob Revolution has the swivel/lock front wheel...
