Overall Rank = 69/123
Age Group = 23-39
Age Group Rank = 40/54
Pre-race routine:

The race was scheduled to start at 10:30 AM. I left home around 7am and arrived to Lourinhã at 8am. Since there was only one transition zone, it was an easy and fast check-in.
Event warmup:

My warm-up was made of 1 running lap to the running circuit and some gym after
Run
  • 21m 30s
  • 5 kms
  • 04m 18s  min/km
Comments:

I started at a controlled pace, which was the right choice to maintain the same rythm during the entire leg. I remember to pass by some athletes during the 4th lap.
Transition 1
  • 01m 1s
Comments:

A normal transition which doesn't deserve any special comments unless that the transition area was really long, around 200m
Bike
  • 32m 14s
  • 18.2 kms
  • 33.88 km/hr
Comments:

On the first lap I tried to go with one group, however I lost a few meters and since there was some headwind I wasn't able to catch them again. The wind was blowing with some strength only in one portion of the circuit.
Later... I think during the second lap I joined another group and went with them til the transition zone
Transition 2
  • 00m 49s
Comments:

i did everything right but I forgot to take off my helmet... fortunately I realized the error still very near of my place in the transition zone... I think I haven't lost more than 10 to 15 seconds with this
Run
  • 10m 59s
  • 2.5 kms
  • 04m 23s  min/km
Comments:

I was going really well, however on the last 500m I had to slow down due to a sudden pain on my left leg. The pain disappeared after I finished the race and I think it won't have any serious consequences
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

The headwind on the cycling leg

Event comments:

The location was great and there was an enthusiastic public near the transition zone.
I have to say that the lunch offered after the race was great

Congratulations! Sure makes me wish I'd taken up multisports when I lived in Spain. Your second run was barely slower than your first which says to me that you ran a good and smart race.

Just out of curiosity, what food and drink did they serve post-race?

Thanks I could make the second run faster if I haven't felt that pain near my left knee... but I guess it would only make a difference on a few seconds... and it was better to slow down..

Well... there was everything... several kinds of meat and not only red, bread, plenty and diverse salads and fruits, cakes and even ice-cream and lots of different drinks, from natural juices to wine and beer. I think there was something more but I really don't remember now...

YUM! Around here we usually get hamburgers and pizza. A nice Ribera del Duero post-race wouldn't be bad though.
