Subject: 5th metatarsal
Anyone out there ever had a stress fracture of the 5th metatarsal? If so little info on how you dealt with it would be appreciated.

Tape it to the toe next to it and stay off it as much as possible. That's what I was told when I had a spiral fracture of mine. Dang carseat.....

really? Tape the toes together even though the break is mid foot? Will give it a try can't make walking any less fun.

Hey Denis. Sorry about the stress fracture. The best thing for it is rest, obviously, and a very supportive type shoe. In other words, a cross trainer is what I recommend to my athletes. Good Luck.

Rest...we should start a stress fracture club....I think there are about 4-5 of us right now.  Nice supportive shoe...don't do anything that hurts...will probably take a few months to heal...know you didn't want to hear that.

I have been wearing my cycling shoes in the house plenty of support and keep the foot taped though the tape comes off when swimming - have to figure a way around that.

I agree - Injuries suck.
