For those with Macs, what do you use to import your workouts?

I was using Firefox, and other then it taking a long time to get the data, it worked fine.  The last 2 weeks it's been shutting down while importing so I cannot use Firefox anymore.  I switched to Safari, and it takes FOREVER!!

I'm wondering why I have so many issues and it seems to take a really long time.  Any suggestions?

I cleared history, so I know it's not an overload of data.  Help me, please...

Hi,

I am not having any trouble with Firefox or Safari. Upload times seem to be "normal". I would check to see which version of the Garmin Communicator you have installed. The latest version of the Garmin Communicator is 2.9.2.0 and you can see if you have the latest by going to the below URL:

Garmin Communicator Plugin test

Also, which versions of Firefox and Safari are you using? Should not really be an issue. Another are to see is your internet connection. If things overall seem slow on your internet connection it will take longer for the data to transfer to the BT site.

Just some basic thoughts. Check the website I posted above to make sure you have the lasted plugin. If not, download and install to see if that gets you going.

Post back your results so that more of us here can try and help.

Thanks for the link - I do have version 2.9.2.0, so it's not that.

More details of the issue with Safari - it takes a while to "Get Data" (where the bar is moving with the percentage) before the point where you press Upload Data.  Once that's done, the actual upload is pretty quick.  But once uploaded, pressing the Save button puts the cursor into the "thinking" mode and that takes forever also.  And I'm not just being impatient.  I'm talking over 10 minutes sometimes.

All other applications and things I do on the MacBook Pro are fast.  The laptop is not even a year old so it shouldn't be having any problems.

And like I mentioned first, Firefox just shuts down completely during "Import from Garmin" - "Get Data".

I'm not sure what else to try next.

This sounds like a problem with the Communicator installation. Can you try uninstalling then reinstalling it?

When you say you cleared out your history, does that mean only the history on the Garmin or actually off your computer?  Not sure if you have seen this discussion but here is how to clear out the files on the computer...

LINK

I do this regularly and it now uploads in about 10sec.  I also have a mac and use firefox.

Thank you both!  I upgraded my Firefox, uninstalled and reinstalled the Garmin ANT Agent, then cleared history from my laptop.  (I never knew that it stored those files on the computer, and I had workouts for the past 10 months!

That seems to have done the trick, it uploaded pretty quick.

Thank you!!!
