Subject: how do I stop the garmin popup thing
Hello
When I log my training everytime a box comes up that says do I want to allow the garmin communicator or something like that. (i think cos once upon a time I tried uploading unsuccessfully)
No  I don't, I'd rather manually log and rarely use my garmin - how do I stop the pop up thing. I can't see anything in settings.
I know all I have to do is press no but it's just getting annoying.
thanks

Uninstall the Garmin Communicator plug-in from your computer and it will stop.

Mike
I know I'm big airhead when it comes to this technological stuff but is that BT specific?  Cos I do plug my garmin in to my computer and use it for other purposes (eg upload to garmin website stuff) so I don't want to affect that
Thanks

I'm afraid you're stuck with it for now.

Garmin Communicator does the "do you want to give access" message every time it's used on a new page, parameters and all. The way our logs are set up, the date is used as a parameter so Communicator thinks it's the first time you're using it with our logs.

This is a design flaw because realistically you should only have to answer it once for a site. Developers for other websites that use it have been complaining about it for a couple of years now. Garmin acknowledged the problem and said they'd update Communicator to only check the domain "www.whatever.com". They haven't done it yet obviously.

What I can do is put a parameter in your Settings "do you have a Garmin" that will not load the Garmin code if it's set to "No.". I can't promise when this will get done though, we have a lot on our plate right now.
