My wife has been doing tri's for a year now, and to mark this first year she want to get inked.
I remember some people have shown tri tatoo's in the past, I tried searching for the forum but without success. Can anyone give us some nice ideas on what to get. She wants to set somthing on her lower back.
Thanks

1.) Find rebutable tat. shop.
2) Look at artists portfolio
3) Explain to artist what you are looking for, include in your explanation why you want the tat., and the emotional part of the reasons behind the tat. Give the artist an idea of style, color, size ect.
4) have tat. artist make an original piece for your wife.

Good tat. artists are amazing, they have unbelievable artistic skill, might as well use it. The artist will probably be able to come up with something that is unique and fits what you guys are looking for, better than any pre-made picture that gets translated into a tat. or some pre-canned tat. flash.

Good luck, send pictures when its done.

I am not a tatoo person and have never wanted one.  However, I will be branded after my first IM.  Still can't decide where I get my M Dot tatoo- guess I have plenty of time to decide- a whole year!

How about a swimmer/biker/runner going across her back?

That's not my ankle by the way.  I don't get my M-Dot tatto until after IMAZ.

I thought about the swim bike run on my back but decided against it. Now this one is COOL!

Check out http://www.bmezine.com/ for some ideas.  Make sure your children aren't around when you're on this site because there some of the stuff is adult only.

Being a heavily tattooed person myself, might I suggest that she look at Hawaiian designs and incorporate the three disciplines within this design.  Since IM Triathlons began in this region.  Just an idea...
