Suburu Triathlon Series
24C / 75F
Overcast
Total Time = 50m 44s
Overall Rank = 86/176
Age Group = 20-29
Age Group Rank = 16/21
Event warmup:

Short 5 min run.
Swim
  • 09m 49s
  • 375 meters
  • 02m 37s / 100 meters
Comments:

Wish I hadnt worn a wetsuit. I found it really slowed me down due to the added weight of the water in the suit. Really tired me out and had a hard time navigating and kept drifting wide. Swollowed half the lake. Really affected me later in the race.
What would you do differently?:

Not wear a wetsuit
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

Transition was good. Didnt spend too much time changing.
What would you do differently?:

Bring a towel.
Bike
  • 27m 17s
  • 10 kms
  • 21.99 km/hr
Comments:

Bike was good to start though I really tired out later on. It wasnt until the last km or two that I regained a bit of energy. For most of the bike I felt sick due to taking in a large amount of water from the swim. Felt light headed.
What would you do differently?:

Get more training in.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

Fairly good.
Run
  • 13m 39s
  • 2.5 kms
  • 05m 28s  min/km
Comments:

Coming off of the bike was quite hard. I was barely running. Had to stop and stretch for about 15s to get my legs working again.
What would you do differently?:

Increase my pace. As the run went on, I continued to get more energy but didnt use it for fear of running out.
Brick workouts. Its all about the prep.
Post race
Warm down:

Walk around. Drink water.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Little to no training time in the 2 months prior to the race.

Event comments:

Great race and I had a blast. Finally met Jordan from BT. Im looking forward to the next one and being more prepared physically and mentally. I only planned this race to be a test to gain a feel for what the sport is like. I must say it leaves you wanting more!

Despite the difficult experience of my first race, I must say I really enjoyed it.

Hey that's great. 50 minutes is very respectable! Wish I had been there.

I enjoyed the Milton course last year.

If you look closely in that picture I think you can see my biii...nope wrong rack.

Hey, it was a blast meeting you as well. And your swim was good, my swim was one not to be remembered, not yours. But a very respectable time for your first. Losing your tri-virginity, nothing like it!

Oh yeah, "hills? what hills?"

On a mountain bike everything feels like hill.
