I can tell you from firsthand experience......the war on drugs has never been about drugs.

Sounds like a solution to the federal deficit.  Just need to expand operations some.

No, then the money would have to go to the general fund......as it stands the local Agencies keep 80% of the proceeds and the Feds get 20%, plus the Feds get to staff task forces all over the country with local officers who are there to take back a share of the booty to their local agencies.  Drugs would be legal tommorrow if the govt. wouldn't stand to LOSE so much money over it.
