Alright- 4 days away from the South Carolina 1/2 and I have to decide something. I've got a choice of the following 2 set ups for wheels this weekend.

1) hed 3 spoke front with renn disc in rear

or

2) Zip 606's (which is a 808 rear and 404 front)

Which would you use and why? If it helps, I'm about 184 lbs and a fairly strong cyclist.

Thanks!

Can't really help myself, but I'm sure you'd get way more replies if you posted in a bigger forum (Triathlon Talk Forum).

The course is rolling terrain and the pavement is rough. I'm going with the only race wheels available to me, Zipp 404's. I did see folks using disc wheels during FOF which is the international distance on this same course. It says the majority of the course is sheltered from the wind on the event info web page. I guess ride the wheels you feel the most comfortable on and give you the most confidence. See you Sunday!

With that course, having no significant climbs, I'd rock the Hed3 and Disk all day. If it's like the FoF course, there are lots of long stretches near straight.

Have fun!
