Got to do some adding, and then will get back with my goals...As for core workouts, how many folks are going to try that? I haven't been including them, and wondering if I should throw a few in. Thanks! Go Team Endless Summer!! |

Veteran 221 | Subject: RE: Team Endless Summer - August Challenge Alright. I'm ready to go. One race down, 3 more to go for the month. One on the 8th, 9th and now sure at the moment. I'll write it later. But I'll have everything up and ready tomorrow. Gotta mke up for last months slacking. MandiGayle - in reference to my running question....Its probably youthfulness. But how about 8 years of HS then into College running. I had a lot to stand up to since my bro paved they way and I always have to be him. I guess its just something that I can do. Extreme Veteran 319 Dallas, Texas | Subject: RE: Team Endless Summer - August Challenge Yay! Team Endless Summer tackles another challenge! A warm welcome to our new members: Alreed & Pulch. We are glad to have you on the team. In addition to the awesome roster we have thus far, VaporTrail will be joining us. Excellent! So, I will be calculating my goals tomorrow and posting them. I will definitely be adding core workouts - something I've been needing motivation to continue. Ya'll just keep posting your goals, and any events you have going this month so that we know who to cheer on and when. Also, I'd love to get to know the team a little better, so maybe ya'll could each share a little background on yourselves. I'll do the same tomorrow when I get my goals together. This is going to be a great month! Go ENDLESS SUMMER!!!!!! |

Extreme Veteran 604 Ohio | Subject: RE: Team Endless Summer - August Challenge Hey Team, Well, I completed my first sprint tri on July 10. I had so much fun that I immediately signed up for my goal race in Panama City Beach on Sept. 10 (I live in OH)-My husband and I are going to make a vacation out of it. I wish I'd scheduled one for August, but we've got so many other things going on. I am running a 5k on Aug 6th though. I'm traveling in August, and though I can't take my bike, I did call around and find a YMCA where I can swim! One of the first things I heard about tri's was that they were addictive, and I think that person was right! I started a new training plan to prepare for this upcoming tri, it's more ambitious than the one I used to prepare for my first tri, so hopefully I'll be able to make my goals-but that's why they are goals, right? And that's why I joined this challenge, to get me moving (and out of bed when my mind is saying, "you can sleep 10 more minutes...") GOALS SWIM: 10,000 m BIKE: 200 mi RUN: 38 mi CORE: 5 workouts (I will do this, I will do this) Good Luck to Team Endless Summer on meeting goals! Edited by alreed 2005-08-02 12:06 PM |

Extreme Veteran 604 Ohio | Subject: RE: Team Endless Summer - August Challenge Okay, already behind with my goal. My stupid pool was closed yesterday(and thru the weekend) for maintenance. I was looking forward to my swim. I was very frustrated yesterday, but I've calmed down now. I'm still in the "obsessed" stage about my training. It's not like I'm a star or anything, but I want to get every workout in, you know? My husband is getting a little tired of it, I think I'm going to try to fit it in Sunday (but I'll be out of town) so hopefully I can make it to a pool somewhere. Have a great training weekend Team Endless Summer! |

Extreme Veteran 319 Dallas, Texas | Subject: RE: Team Endless Summer - August Challenge I hope ya'll have had great training weeks thus far. Let's finish it strong this weekend. I think we've all been (if we aren't currently) where alreed is with training.and the frustration over missed workouts and being a bit obsessed. Not a bad thing at all. Have a GREAT 5K today Alreed!! This is going to be a busy race week for Hoff as well. Monday and Tuesday back to back What a stud! Let's be sure to cheer him on. I still need goals from Vapor Trail and EmTri. So Gentlemen, if you would . . . Thanks! Ya'll pm to me your actual totals for this week by 11ish Monday morning, so I can get those to Rennick by noon. I think that's all for now. The weekends here. Yay! Make it a good one, Endless Summer! |

We are honored to have an ironman triathlete on team Endless Summer. So a big warm welcome to you. Phil, I hope your Oly was AWESOME today! I know you smoked 'em. Race report, race report! Have fun at your race tomorrow. What's a measly little 5 mile run after an Oly tri? Especially when you can run like the wind. Ha! Hey, I know that everybody is getting really busy with the end of the summer coming, and all the races we have coming up. (Isn't that schedule insane?) I just want to encourage us all - especially myself - to squeak in every workout we can - even if it seems tiny. It makes a difference. Tell us if you need encouragement, a little extra motivation, or whatever! That's what this challenge team is all about - helping each other stick to those training plans and be in the best condition possible. Make it a great week Endless Summer! |

Veteran 221 | Subject: RE: Team Endless Summer - August Challenge Alrighty. This week is pretty much in the bag. Now I can relax for two week and get some good training in. I'm excited. Things are looking on the up and up. P.S. the dates of my races were wrong. I really have no concept of dates. I'm always a day or two off. So both my race reports are up now. Check 'em out. I'm really happy with my Oly. And well the 5 mile. I'm just so surprised at how I did. Hope everyone is out there working hard. Good luck to everyone. |

Veteran 118 Roseville, California | Subject: RE: Team Endless Summer - August Challenge Sorry for the delay, Team. Didn't know how to really estimate my goals for this month. Since I have two races this month (including my first olympic distance), I'm looking at a lower total for the month in biking (I do all my longer rides on weekends, and two of my weekends this month have races). Anyway, here goes:

Veteran 257 Stirling, Scotland | Subject: RE: Team Endless Summer - August Challenge Well done everyone. I see we are currently in second place, a mere 0.3% behind. I'm having a bit of a taper week this week but will push on for the rest of the month. Starting to get a bit nervous about the open water swim this weekend. Fixating on cold head problems, I'm going with two swim caps but found that my head was still cold. I was wondering if I should have a layer of water between the two caps to act as extra insulation. I should probably search the threads but thought I'd test you guys first. Go team. |

It keeps the cold water out of my ears and it seems to help. |

Veteran 257 Stirling, Scotland | Subject: RE: Team Endless Summer - August Challenge Thanks guys. I guess I should have bought a neoprene cap earlier. The water temp is expected to be 12c so I'll just need to grin and bear it. The cold doesn't affect my ears, it's more the top of my head, exactly like an ice cream headache. Have a good weekend everyone. |
