I assume we will go Sun - Sat for the week and this week be longer cause November starts on Thurs day - joe c orrect me if I M wrong

SO here we go!!!

The formula and multipliers are as follows:

Temperature Wind factor

30-35 .5 point light winds (5-10 mph) 1 point
25-29 1 points 11-19 mph- 2 points
15-24 3 points 20+- 4 points
1-14 5 points
0 and below 8 points

Precip

drizzle/light snow 1 point
heavy rain/snow 3 points

Bike multiplier

Suck-o-meter scoring
Time in minutes x (Temp mult+Wind mult+precip mult+ Bike mult)= Suckitude score

My morning commute got me 49 crap points (cold but no wind).  I should do better on the ride home if it cools off enough (more wind).  the game is on!

Well, I just BARELY got points on my run...managed to get out there before it got over 50 degrees (49 degrees). 20 min w/ 11 mph winds=40 points today...woo-hoo!

I did the calculation wrong this morning. I thought my points were a little low, so I put all of the numbers in Morey's spreadsheet and voila, that's better.

run 36.75 minutes

temp 34.3 degrees

wind 10mph

Total 55.125 points.

Thats more like it. I don't know what the hell I did this morning to get 19.

Hey, so here's a question. I biked home tonight and it was 51. So, is that just no points? Or, do I get to count my light wind points? (6mph wind)

Edited to say that according to Morey's calculator, nope, no points. Dang.

All right. I continue to be confuzled. Morey's calculator gives me different results than I get. Sooooo, is Morey's calculator the "official" way to do the scoring?

Here's my calculations (yep - I'm counting every minute on that bike, even if it's really only a couple of minutes).

2.5 minutes
36 degrees (0 pts)
6 mph winds (.5 pts)
bike multiplier: 1
2.5 X (1 + .5) = 3.75

Morey's calculator says it's 5. Who's right?

6mph is 1 pt not .5, so you are mistaken,

we will be official with the morey calculator - that way it is consistent

37 minute run in 35 mph winds

suckitude score = 148 points (is that right?)

Wish it would get cold. It feels like September out....

OK, here's what I got for last week:
Thurs
Bike 15 mins, 47 deg, 10 mph winds: 15 points (pffft)
I did 45 minutes later that evening but that was on the trainer and swam indoors, so no counts on that.

Fri
Bike 97 minutes, 48 degrees, 13 mph winds: 194 points

Total suckitude for the week: 209 points.

So the weekend went down with a great Frozen Man 40-

Fri I swam inside and today I kayaked on EL for 35 mins (not sure if that takes craptastic) but Saturday is the big winner

SWIM (2pt)- 43 degrees (0pts) with 9/10 mph (.5pts) for 10 mins = 25 pts (should be worth more for the water temp being under 55 easy)

BIKE (1pt) - 45 degrees (0) with 11mph winds (2 pts) for 75 min = 225pts

RUN (0) 49 degrees (0) with 11 mph (2) for 19 mins = 38 pts

TOTAL OF 288!

doesn't seem like much for such a long day, especially since we swam

It's gotta be 49 degrees or lower temp wise...what was the reading on that?  And was it a bike or run?

You boys suck. I got ZERO points this weekend, despite lots of time working out. Stupid warm temps and calm winds. (Well, the winds weren't calm yesterday, but it was still 2 degrees too warm. *sigh*)

I've got a whopping 5 points for the week.

It was a run, but BALMY out. At least 60...so only the wind counts.

Are we posting for the short week today or do we wrap it into next week?

I tried to wait last night until the wind came up and the temp went down but I still couldn't get any points out of it.

I'll begin playing tomorrow with my commute (25 degrees 17 mph wind)
