So far I have done sprint distance but will move to oly's and 1/2 next season and then on to Ironman WI if I can for 2011. I am 37, married to Tom who is not into tri's but has been to everyone of my races and is my biggest fan, we have 4 kids Tara 13, Erin12, Brenna 9 and Liam 7. I have 1 more tri for the season on the 27th of Sept. So hoping this challenge will keep me motivated! I have been slacking on the training. I work part time at the YMCA as a group fitness instructor, preschool/youth sports and education instructor and run the tri-club. GO OKRA! |

Champion 6225 | Subject: RE: Fighting Okra - September End of Summer Challenge im gonna have to make some motivation appear real quick here. i have a 45 min swim on tap....ok whats the big deal? usually its not, but i tried (without success) to go up to the Y during the day to get it in, but my kids were NOT having it, whine, whine, whine. complain. see why Thursday cant be here fast enough? alrighty. i get it. id rather stay home and play with my friends while theres still a few days of summer left, but still... their social life sure puts a crimp in my tri life. darn kids! its gonna be a late night workout which i detest. my youngest sons 2nd grade orientation is tonight at school so that will probably take at least an hour - so i wont be getting out much before 7:30 and wont be getting up to the Y much before 8:00...and into the pool much before 8:15. OI, you get the picture. so sorry for the grump-fest. i really feel for all you all that work and do this on a regular basis. im just glad i'll only have to for one more day. HAPPY TRAINING EVERYONE. stacieb |

I signed up yesterday for the 1/2 mary in St. Petersburg Florida, so now I need to get training on it. Haven't done a 1/2 mary in a year and half due to injury. I am a walker learning to run. The group I doing the 1/2 mary with are walkers, so that is why my goal is heavy on walking. Anyway, I'm Kendra, aka grandma. We are going to have a great month! |

I'm Jen and I happen to live in MS not far from Delta State, I have been to the campus a bunch of times. I am sort of getting back into things. Did a half mary in June and came up injured, had to do PT and all of that. Still kept up with my biking and swimming, but no races or running. Only started back on slow, short runs a few weeks a go. This was my first season and I did 3 du's, one mini sprint, a 10K, 12K the half mary and my first sprint will be in mid October. My first marathon is in Feb 2010. I am looking forward to this challenge to get my self back into a routine! Hi Stacie B.!!!! |

LOL. thing i love about it, is that i can get all my stuff done during the daytime hours (not just tri related stuff, but life related stuff, house related stuff et al) and i can really focus my attention on them when they come home in the afternoon, hearing about their day, helping with homework, then fixing dinner..... my two youngest children catch the bus at 8 which is 20 minutes earlier than last year, i can get my butt out the door and get my training done by 9:30-10 at the latest....i can even make it to the 9 oclock spin class easier, and maybe even get in a short swim beforehand.... its all good...one more day. stacieb |
