Some of you have sent inspires / PMs and I wanted to say thanks to everyone.  The internet certainly fosters a wonderful spirit of community.

HERE is more of the story.  Truly this has been a horrific week for a myriad of reasons.  While titled uncle, we were fairly close in age and this man really was my teacher, mentor, friend, confidante, the big brother I never had.

He wasn't without flaws, mind you, and could drive me crazy at times, but I mean it when I say he would give you the shirt off his back if it was the last one he owned, which is why I include THIS, if anyone is at a loss to get rid of excess cash they might not otherwise spend on tri gear, heh, heh

Thanks everyone, and let's never lose sight of the important things in life.

I'm very sorry about your loss. The world would truly be a better place if more people were like your uncle.

So sorry for your loss.  This BT family has lost far too many great people these last few months.  My prayers go out to you and your family.

Wait a minute... This is the first I read about this. Horrible.

travljini, is this the person you mentioned you had visited in Tennesee? I seem to remembe you describing him to me and his vocation. Is this that person?

Again I am saddened by you rloss.  Your uncle sounded like an amazing man in life, and I get the sense that people completely expected this unselfish action from him.

Be proud that he sacrificed the ultimate to save children... that is amazing!

You are very well loved here Andrea, and if you need anything, never hesitate to ask!

I hope to see you tomorrow at the lake!

Yes, yes, yes & yes.  Being the go-to person made it that much more of an angst ridden week.

People don't like to talk about it, but folks, no matter how old you are do some estate planning, and make your wishes known!! Death brings out the ugly in people -- and from those you least expect it.
