Subject: Garmin 305 mount to aerobar.
So I will be getting my VO2 max test tomorrow and finally upgraded to the 305 with a HR monitor. I bought the conversion kit with the mount for the bike. Now I ask if anyone else has had this problem. The mount is made for road bikes, or rounded base bars. Well I have the FSA base bar so nowhere to put my Garmin. So was wondering how everyone else has their Garmin or other computer mounted on their aerobars. I have looked around and seen some ways but had to find out what the people of BT have done to correct this.

Here is a link to one of the setups I like. This guy mounts it on the end of his stem which I really like.

That was my first suggestion and I have one but it gets in the way of the aero bottle some.  What I did was slide the bike mount of the attachment above (left the zip ties in place).  Then I set the mount over the steam and ran a few more zip ties around the stem and through the zip ties on the mount (if that all makes since) and then pulled everything tight.  It is not perfect but it works.  Now honestly I like the position on the aero bars better as it is easier to see but on the steam it forces me not too look so much.

I use an aerobottle and have the profile design aerobar attachment also for my garmin 305 -- but i have the knob facing outwards so it doesn't get in the way of my aerobottle.

I see how it's easiest to face it outside but I don't want to do that. I will be getting rid of my aerobottle as it frustrates me so I instead will do the new set up shown in the link with a regular bottle. Seems to be a new popular way and will try it due to my frustration with the aerobottle.

I did not like the velcro strap band or the mount set up. I use a piece of pipe foam insulation, have CBX carbon bars, and use the standard strap that came with the 305.
