My daughter and I will be there racing.

Have you been there before? It's a great race for the kids. Love watching them before the adult race starts.

ps - will you be wearing your new avatar bikini?

haha!  no.....not likely....I will maybe sometime during the weekend...but not while 'spectating' at the tri lol!

I had heard it was a great kids race - that's why we are going   I would definitely do the adult one if I wasn't injured - hope we can all race it next year though.....

what's the water temperature like? (how do they do the kids' swims...any info that I can pass on to my girls?)

Good luck to you both Paul - hope to see you this time!

Water temps are usually in the mid to high 70's. It's a beach entry swim. The youngest swim along the shore and the older kids do an out, across and then back in. The distance will depend on age group. They'll have about a 30m run up the beach to transition. There'll be a little water pool prior to transition to rinse sand off their feet.

The bike and the run is as flat as it gets.

The only down side to this race if you are only doing the kids race is you have to wait till the adult race is done before the awards ceremony. Can be a long morning.

I'm contemplating doing it if I don't go away for the weekend.

You should...you'll be a "seasoned" triathlete then.

thanks for the info Paul!  My girls are 'racing' in the 7 and 9 year (she turns 9 tomorrow!) ag....so their swims are only 50m and 100m lol!  I love watching the kids too - and so far my girls seem to love doing tris too!  The distances bump up quite a bit for my 9 year old who will have to race as a 10 year old next year....so we'll see if she is still 'having fun' then lol.

I wish I could do it too....you should definitely do it Kelownagirl! (sorry - I forget your first name)....
