Subject: Blisters
Lately after I run I notice that I begin developing small blisters on the tips of my toes.  Primarily the second and third toe in.  I haven't experienced this before, and was wondering if it's just a part of IM training or if it was something with my shoes.  About halfway through the summer I began using Yankz for races and then just kept them in my running shoes.  This is when I first began noticing the blisters.  I thought those were the problem so recently I bought new running shoes and left the laces in yet the blisters have returned.  Any ideas?

I have huge calluses at the end of my 2nd, 3rd toe, but its because my 2nd is longer than my first. They used to blister, but as I packed on miles, they quit. Your shoes may be too loose and you may be getting quite a bit of sliding in your shoe.

Your shoes don't fit right.

That is what I was thinking. Has it only been since you started packing on more miles? If so, maybe you need to go up 1/2 size to deal with some swelling. Are you wearing socks that have a seam or anything running along that part of the toes.

My socks have no seams near the tips of my toes.  I had no problem with this last season.  Early on this season I did go with a pair of new balance shoes (previously had asics) and had no problem.  Then about 2 months into the season I added Yankz to my shoes and soon after began seeing blisters.  I'm thinking maybe the Yankz were too loose causing the blisters.  Just recently I was "Ironstruck" and decided to go with the Nike Air Pegasus which I really enjoy and feel comfortbable, but recently the blisters have returned on one foot.  Perhaps it wasn't completely healed?

When I did my longer runs I often felt like the ends of my toes were bruised. Turns out that I wore Wright socks that are not stretchy so it was like my toes were being jammed against my socks over and over. I considered buying 1/2 size bigger shoes and tried them on and they seemed like clown shoes. I switched to stretchy socks and the problem was solved. It seemed such a little thing but it made a huge difference.

I can't wear Yankz as my feet would slide to much in my shoes.

Are you still wearing the yankz?  if so I'd take them out and put proper laces back in straight away for longer run training
