Subject: ETA on cadence and multi sport Garmin data?

Hello

I recently started uploading the data from from Garmin FR305 to my training log.

I have a foot pod for running cadence as well as a cadence sensor for biking. I was quite disapointed that none of the cadence info is imported into the training log. Is there any plans to add cadence?

Also, when I try to upload my brick workouts, I get an error and FireFox crashes. After doing some research it seems the training log wont accept multisport workouts. Again this is very disappointing. What I dont understand is that another online training log site that I have been testing does accept multisport imports using Garmin communicator. So it seems it is possible, just not happening on BT. Any plans/ETA when this might get fixed?

 Thanks

Cadence isn't something we've had much demand for but capturing it wouldn't be complex. We'll look into including it the redesign/update that we're working on right now. The real issue is what to do with the data. Obviously it would be shown in the blog view. Do you think it would be too much to show in the lap grapg/table? Do you have a recommendation for which cadence sensor Ishould get for testing purposes?

Multisport uploads are in the works. I'm testing something relative to that this weekend.

Thanks for your reply.

Good to hear about multisport, I look forward to that.

As far as cadence, I would like to see min, max and average and I think it would be fine to add it to the lap data.

For equipment, do you have any current hardware that you add a cadence sensor to? Do you have the capability to import data files (csv, fitlog, tcx, etc) into your BT code? If so I could send you some logs to play with.

Send a tcx file with cadence data to [email protected]. I can use that for development and testing.

I have a FR305 but could always get whatever hardware is needed.

Two tcx log files sent.

If you already have a FR305 and you want to play with cadence, then I would suggest either the foot pod for running or the bike cadence/speed sensor.

The bike cadence sensor is more useful if you are to buy only one. Works great for tracking speed/distance when on a trainer, if you use a trainer. Buy from Amazon.com, great prices.

I have 3 bike cadence sensors on 3 different bikes for use with a 705 and a 305 with a footpod for indoor running.  I dont know why you would want and can even get cadence off the footpod and if you could of what value it is....  getting cadence off the bike sensor reported would, however, be most usefull.  If you need more test files off either a 305 or 705 let me know.

BTW I work for Garmin and run with the  software engineers if you have issues....
