Subject: RE: Note to Versusstrates - 2009-07-22 11:10 PM Yeah, yesterday there was an onscreen orphan add that interupted an awesome helo fly over shot of the High Alps. Way to set up the shot and then obscure it with ads, Versus. I remember that shot! I was sitting with my wife at the time and the only reason she was even watching was because I told her about how spectacular a lot of the shots were in HD. Then, they plaster that HUGE ad for Orphan all over half the screen. Versus isn't the only network to do this as I am sure you have noticed. I am sick and tired of seeing all kinds of junk crawling across the screen on the big networks too. The friggin' animated ones are the most annoying. The local news stations have gotten so bad that all the crap is starting to overlap each other. The name and story headline is plastered below the 'on the scene' talking head with the network logo on top of the right side, an animation for the next sitcom on the left side and last night, a severe thunderstorm alert rolling across the top of the screen. For cryin' out loud! My 10-year old son and I watched an episode of Andy Griffith afterward and the only thing on the screen was Andy, Opie, and Barnie. Reminded me of the good old days... Greg |
