Look Cleats... Replace yes or no?

I'm trying to figure out if my look keo cleats need to be replaced. I keep seeing mention of "wear indicator holes" but I've only seen a photo of the holes on the type with the type w/o the grip bottoms.

I have the Grey ones w/ grip bottoms and on one shoe the grips have completely worn off. I can't tell if the little dots are from wear indication or from where the grip bottom was attached to the plastic. (3 Dots in the front 2 in back) Not sure why one shoe is worn down so much over the other I must have a preference of foot to place on the ground when stopping at red lights. City riding is a bit rough on my cleats.

Also I saw a few websites mention something about memory so you can place the cleat in exactly the same spot. How does that work? I'm a bit nervous about getting them on the same way. Mine were placed on during a bike fitting session, so I don't want to screw with the positioning. I can't find the original info that came with my cleat purchase.
