Subject: 1st Tri turned into a duathlon due to e-coli, unhappy with my bike portionI did well for the first 2 mile run 7 min/mile, great transition, then had issues getting my shoes on my feet while clipped into the pedals (learned my lesson to practice before hand ). This took my bike average speed from around 18.2 mph (computer ) to 17.4 on the course. The last 3 mile run was brutal, I was dead, but still finished with 8 min/mile for the 3 miles.
So I signed up for a Tri, still will be my first, in 2 weeks.
My issue is the cycling portion. I thought I did well at speed of around 18 mph, but got passed about twice to three times as much as I passed others. I finished middle of the pack for cycling times, I have been a runner for several years and my cardio is very good, but how do I increase my speed for the cycling portion?
