I am paying way to much to swim at Lifetime. Is there any place in the Katy/Richmond area that is cheaper? I checked the Y and their lap swim times don't mesh with my off times. Thanks, Joe

i'm not in the same part of town but i moved over to 24hr.  cheapest around.  only two lanes but i usually swim at 0430 or so never an issue.  looks like there are a couple locations out by you.

might be a bit far but the onurleft folks have masters group that meets at memorial herman wellness center on saturday mornings.  15 bucks a month for a non member is a pretty good price i think.  i haven't been in several months but the couple times i did go it was well worth it.   scroll to the bottom right of this.

paying for both of those is still a lot cheaper than a membership at the local y.

you also might want to try posting this here on the hrtc boards if you haven't already.  might get some more ideas.

good luck.

The pools at 24 hour and LA Fitness rarely get used by those under the age of 60 so I'd look there.

Where in Katy?

I go to LA Fitness and mostly use the one on Fry/I-10. The pool is only 4 lanes, it sometimes get a bit crowded between 6-8pm (as in sharing a lane with one other person) but the rest of the time its rarely used. Its closed during the water aerobics classes (MWF around 9-10am and I think T/TH evenings - don't remember what time) Its not the best, but my monthly membership there is $30 and includes pool, all classes (so spin, yoga, etc.) childcare all the regular gym equipment.

I have lots of friends who go to Lifetime and love it, and I know it has a ton of amenities, but I just can't justify the cost when I can get everything I NEED for $30/month.

Thanks for the info.

I usually swim after dropping daughter off at school. Which means I get to the pool between 8:30 and 9:00am. The early morning hours are no good as I don't get home from work til 11pm.

I am off of 1093 (Westpark toll road) so I am trying to keep it fairly close.

It's not an option now, but there is a sign up by Best Buy at 99 & 1093 indicating a new 24 Hr Fitness will be coming soon there.  I heard it will open next summer.

I'm a former Katy-ite. Check out Mary Jo Peckham park. Not sure on the time schedule fitting your schedule, so check online--but so long as your a Ft. Bend County resident, it's free.
