The Chilliwack Tri Club is hosting a super sprint tri on Fathers Day at Cultus Lake. It is for novice to expert triathletes. There will be a BBQ after the event!! Check out the CTC web site for details. Cheers Bruce

Do you know what the current lake temp is? At what temp will a decision be made to swim or go to a duathlon-type of event?

Not sure of the temp but if there is snow in the mountain behind Cultus it is usually fairly cool. There are a few brave soles already swimming in the lake. If you are interested come prepared to swim and if it is too cool the race official will go to plan B. In 07 we swam and the temp was 10.5 and that was cold!!( May). Hope to see ya there! Bruce

Water temperature is 18C. The event is a tri, not a du.
Maple Bay at Cultus Lake. We've been seeking TriBC sanctioning for it. They're requesting that all participants have valid TriBC memberships. Please renew yours if you haven't already or register a new one if you don't have one. Much, much faster if done online at the TriBC website. Do it now!

Race start: 10:00am sharp
Transition setup and body marking etc: 8:00-9:30am
Cost: $20/adult
Teams welcome.

No event day registration.

UPDATE ON SUPER SPRINT TriBC MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS:

No TriBC membership required. TriBC has granted us race-day approval. If you're not a member yet, no worries. Come out and join us. Register a team. Bring the family. BBQ after!

I swam last weekend in the lake and the temperature is good(18 degrees).  We expect a good range of athletes.  I encourage anyone who has every thought of doing a race to sign up.  My first race was one of these events and it was a great race to start doing triathlons.
