stetched and jogged about 1/4mi
Run

  • 13.1 miles
  • 08m 28s  min/mile
Comments:

I wanted to run this like a 10K since I've been getting ready for Nationals with nothing but speed work for 4 weeks. So I sandbagged the first 7mi and ran a 10K pace when I was within sight of the mile 7 marker, which put me at about 6.2mi left.

Good news... I ran the final 10K in 43:12! That's 6:58min/mi! This training hard stuff is working.

Forgot my splits:
8:54
8:48
8:43
8:50
8:46
9:03
8:20
7:47
7:32
7:12

What would you do differently?:

nothing
Post race
Warm down:

Ate and drank a lot. I had 3 bananas, 2 bottles of water, a bagel, some Coke, and a ClifBar. The humidity got me near the end and I crammped at mile 12 but ran through it.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

nothing

Event comments:

Great to see all the BT people in Tampa. Much love.

Wow that was a great race for you, and you just totally ran away from us right from the gun!  Congrats on the 1:50, it wasn't ideal running conditions!

gee you're fast! Almost makes up for that wacky avatar!  You'll have to go sub 1:45 to be completely forgiven, though.
